Next up is this 1985 Dodge Ram 4x4.
Girl I used to work with owns it and wants it all one color.
Some damage to deal with:
Tailgate has some surface rust:
I'll start on this tomorrow.

Shot some Tamco DTM primer mixed as a sealer today.
Hopefully, I will get this thing sprayed tomorrow. Now with the cold weather I am trying to paint in a 4 hour window each day. I have heat in the booth but when its only 58 degrees outside when I kick the booth fans on things cool down quickly. 1968 Coronet R/T

Nice progress!
So for the door you removed the hinges from the door and not the body? do you have any pics of the door jambs while painted?(the jambs on the truck) are you doing any under hood paint or painting the side jamb of the hood? What are you going to do to paint between the bed and the cab? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm going to paint a truck soon also and just looking for some pointers. Unbolted the doors from the hinges because the pins wouldn't clear.
I removed the door seals, sill plates, etc. and painted the jambs at the same time I did the inside of the doors - sorry no pics. Unbolted the bed, removed the fuel filler neck, unplugged the wiring and moved the bed back far enough to paint the front of the bed and back of the cab. The owner of the truck could only afford a basic paint job so this isn't a restoration but rather a "get it all one color" type job so I am not doing underside of hood, etc. In fact she doesn't even have all the emblems for the truck. Those Ram's Head hood ornaments are selling used upwards of $100. 1968 Coronet R/T

Ahh got it.
Did you use a glue or sealer when you put the door seals back on? I might try moving the bed back to get the gun in there. Thanks for that idea. That is pricey just for one emblem. Must be rare and hard to come by them for that price! Truck I'm going to do is going red to black. So I think I'm going to have to remove the hood to get it all one color. 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive comes in a tube.
This truck is gobbling up the paint. Looks like 2 gallons of RTS will only get me two coats and that's not spraying the inside of the bed. 1968 Coronet R/T

Ahh ok. Thanks bill be getting some of that adhesive then!
And is it taking up so much paint because the size of the truck or is the paint not covering it well enough? Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
