One of my son's projects. The bus really needed a full restoration but totally not worth it. So you get what you get, for the price.
Tamco's base color Chianti Red was spot-on. This also used the 5310 primer and the 2100 clear. No cut or buff on this (which is obvious in some places - it was 100 degrees in the garage).
As usual the clear looks wet, basically forever.

Pretty cool project. As far as not being worth it...have you looked up what those things go for lately?

I think you will find the big money goes for the 21 window bus.
Nice work, Chris. |

Looks real good. I admire you guys that have time to do this as a hobby. Something I don't have time for anymore.

Thanks guys; this was 100% my kid's project I really didn't do anything on it other than general cleanup and the occasional helpful suggestion He's much better than this than I am.
I think on a good day a bus like this is probably worth around $15K. The interior on this one is very good, all original and not even a mark on it. Underside is rotten though, and I'm sure rust will be bubbling through the wheel arches soon. It really needs a $20K restoration to make it worth $15K. |
