Hello from Iowa!
I've been reading an array of post on here and learned quite a bit. This place is
loaded with lots of great technical information for both the newbie like my self and for
the advanced with mega miles of experience behind them.
I'm restoring a '48 Chevy 5 window 1/2 ton pickup here in Iowa. I've been slowly working on it for 2 years. Chassis has HVLP gun, surprisingly it came out looking great. The body has all been disassembled, sand blasted and coated with 5-Star Extreme High Build DTM Primer. I'm not sure if this was the correct product to use at the time but I wanted to get something on the bare metal as quickly as possible. It was also recommended to be by a local automotive paint shop. Their comment was "Everyone uses this". Well it has protected the body as I slowly work away on fenders, doors, hood and cab.
After cutting and patching/welding in new metal panels. I 'm lightly sanding down areas requiring filler and applying Evercoat Rage 105.
I got estimates from local body shops and was floored to find out the high cost of prep to finish paint. (years ago I had a '60 Vette restored and the body man charged me $12.50/hr, Oh my, how costs have changed) So after hours upon hours of studying here I've decided to paint the truck my self using a HVLP Turbine and leaning towards a Fuji 4 Stage for this.
Hopefully I'll get thru this restoration with out pulling my hair out or over consumption of a favorite beverage. Retired here and this is my first automotive project on such a grand scale, at least to me. At times it's a bit over whelming.
Any assistance or recommendations would be greatly honored.

Welcome to the forum If you haven't purchased that Wiz bang Turbin sprayer yet GOOD! You wanna careful there are not too many people who use those things! Ten years ago or so back they were all the rage, Its a good idea in theory BUT not a lot of machines didn't actually worked as advertised especially with automotive paints. There are only a few people who actually use one on this web sight and even then the Main guy uses it for his Wood Furniture restoration business and NOT on cars your gonna want to ask around about that system and see how many people are actually using it! Figuring out spraying problems and settings is hard enough without compounding the problem with the use of hardly used exotic paint guns. If air requirements are the issue there are guns available that operate at lower cfm requirements of smaller compressors, although I am of the crowed who says to buy the biggest baddest air compressor you can afford and don't look back.
