As you can see in the video I'm down to fresh sheet metal. How should I prepare this for primer and what kind of primer to use?

Nice work
Check out the Stickys on the Main Body and Paint page they cover Bare metal up.
I could repeat every thing but its been covered many many times.

The Biggest deal besides Clean clean clean is a Good Air compressor and a Good water Trap and air filter. don't care what Paint gun you have or how clean or dirty your shop is or whether you have a Paint booth or not! If you don't have enough air or you have Oil or water in your air you'll be fighting problems from the very beginning you'll never figure out.
You have to have enough clean Air first.

Most people don't understand the importance of having the right size compressor and a Good Water Trap that works. Most think that there supposedly 5 hp 20-60 gal air compressor is gonna work the truth is most 5 hp compressors are only 3 hp and there supposedly 17 CFM pump is only 11 cfm if they are lucky. Almost all Air compressor company's lie about there motors and pumps true ratings its just the way it is.
When it comes to Air compressors Bigger is better.
