Yeah....jump on that deal. Just knowing somebody that understands the cut and buff process is a big plus. If you can try to "assist" (stay out of his way, though!) when he does some of that. Its' a real art....

After a very long time finally primed the body. As a first project I was very happy with the outcome, not perfect, but for no paint booth and a first try at such a big area I was very happy.

Painted the body yesterday. In the pictures you can see I used plastic to tape up the car. DO NOT DO THIS. I had real problem with the paint coming of of it and getting everywhere. It did come out good but was a lot of work to get it cleaned after every coat. (The white dots are on the camera lens.)

Final clearcoat today now on to doors and fenders. As you can see this was done in a garage. Not the best place to paint but had no choice. This is coming out far better than I expected for a first job. I think I gave the cut a buff guy a really good shot at making this come out really good. Because this is going to be a driver I would actually drive the car like this.

Looking good. Hopefully you put plenty of clear on there. 3 coats minimum, 4 if you aren't spraying wet coats.

Doors and fenders painted and cleared. Just the top of the trunk and some small parts to do. Nice to see parts going on and car running. Cut and buff guy stopped by said looks real good. May be ready for him In a week.

Off to get cut and buffed. This was a lot of work to get this this far, hope it turns out good. This was a first time for everything on this job in regards of body work. Sure learned a lot doing this project. ( Like I don't want to sand any more) Took it for short test drive every thing looks good. Engine seems like it can't wait to get out on the open road once again.

We'll wait and see.
Usually once you have finished one it takes a while but you spot that "special" car for the "right" price and here you go again.
