Yea....I wanted more clearance also....But if I had to do it over again...I would have gone with the Borgosen box.

Instead.....I built a jig....used 6 1/2ft of original frame rails....Clipped the front end.....Clipped the rear end all with Chris Alston Chassisworks stuff....Put it on air springs with double adjustable, and then got my hands on a 2018 Coyote and 10 speed. LOL.

Spent a LOT of $$$..... Making it Pro Touring...... Without Dub wheels and Tires.

Fast, Handle and Stop on a dime and give your $ .05 change.

Warthog5 very nice!!! not sure if I am going that far, with the chassis but I like the set for sure!! Quick question with the power gear box, what center link would you go with? I looked into them and I am not that far invested at the moment to go with stock/new power gear box. The Cavalier R&P utilizes the the inner tie rods/geometry in the same positions as stock. Great ride!! Thank you Robert

When the Borgasion gets used....You use the stock manual steering components.

The Power is all translated in the box, instead of that power slave that Ford used. Yea....The one that leaks all the time.

Hey Warthog, I got a hold of Borgeson for the Tbird, their swap does not work with the 59, I’m sure a bit of it has to do with there never was a manual steering option for the 58-60. It sounded a lot smoother swap and visually more period correct. I guess I will continue with the R&P. Probably why I have come across more R&P swaps and did not find the power gear box swap in my research.

10-4.....Did you talk to folks about the steering radius? IE: You do NOT want it to be a larger radius when going to lock on the steering...It's a PITA.

So finished the radiator support, have a little seam sealer to finish it, want to prep the rest of the area before applying that. Started to strip the front end, I knew there was some damage to the drivers side fender/headlight bucket area, had absolutely no clue the bondo would be 1/4-1/2” thick lol. May be searching for a fender, they seem to be elusive in searching. Maybe someone can give me some pointers on maybe a better repair? Have not stripped the passenger side yet but believe it to be fairly straight.
