So was your carpet a molded pre cut kit? Looks great....

Yes. ACC carpet sold by Stock Interiors.
It has a perimeter binding on it but no holes. Actually could have been about 1/2" wider at the sail panel areas but I am sure all these older trucks varied in size.

I really like those kits, even if they aren't perfect in cut on the older car/trucks they are at least close enough to work them out..... Old kit cars never had premade carpet sections so you end up cutting, fitting, cutting.....

Test fitting the fender to check for alignment.
Bottom of door giving me fits. It needs to come in at least a 1/4" and there is no more adjustment left.

Wow that is a huge project. That was a lot of rust you had to fix. Truck is really shaping up nicely! Owner must be super excited!

Over two hours of fussing with it and I am to here:

The second choice is the wise one but I have a problem leaving things alone that bother me.
I will take one more crack at aligning the bottom of the door with the rocker panel since I remember straightening it out some when working on it. Who knows how crooked some of these things were to make them appear properly aligned. It's a Chevy after all.

I'm always reminded of the old story of the couple of guys at the end of the Chevy production lines on the big 4 door cars back in the 60s/70s. Supposedly they had wood shim blocks and 2x4s for final "adjustment" of tolerances.....

Whoever reupholstered the seat didn't install the rear bracket bolts that hold the seat back. My guess is they wanted the seat to tip forward, however it also tips backwards without stopping until it hits the back of the cab.

I pulled some hog rings, installed the bolts and fixed the upholstery. Now the seat works like it's supposed to.



I am waiting for the new vent window for the driver's door so I can finish putting it back together. Then I will move on to the passenger's door. The goal is to get the cab weatherproof so I can put the truck outside while I work on the hood, bed and tailgate.
