A preacher friend in California dropped this off a while ago.
He wants rusted metal replaced, dents removed and truck in epoxy primer. At that point he will have to make a decision as to whether to proceed to paint.

Now that can be a nice truck again. Think you might be able to talk him into letting you do it all? Looking forward to this....my shop helper is doing a truck build currently. I'll see if I can get him to follow along on this.....

Started by removing the doors and front seat. Then I needed to remove the front fender in order to get access to the rocker panel welds.
I thought this would be an easy task but got an education real quick.

To get to the upper fender bolts I had to remove the cowl grille. Then I discovered the hood hinges are actually mounted on the front fenders, so the hood had to come off.

Then there was the grille and front bumper to deal with. After that and some accessories like the windshield wash pump being removed I was able to get the left front fender off. BUT that didn't give me access because the inner fender is made of metal and was also in the way so that had to come out.

I had to straighten the bottom flange on the rocker panel to get to the spot welds. A couple of hits with the hammer and I got my first shower in dirt.

I found this cubbyhole that had a large amount of junk in it.

The handle turned out to be from the seat adjustment lever.

Finally got the rocker panel off and called it a night.

Found more stuff in the cubbyhole, including the original gas cap.

Right side of cowl had some rust so I cut it open:

Ordered some patch panels today. I will work on the cowl rust and other smaller repairs while waiting for them to arrive.

Problem I am having right now is that my 1968 GTX is all apart and stored throughout my garage. Finding a place to put all the truck parts is a bit challenging.

I'll be media blasting what I can today and then working on the smaller metal patches.
