The replacement tailgate arrived yesterday afternoon.
It has a couple of very small dings in it and the top right and bottom left edges are buggered up a bit. Overall it seems to be very close to the original in size and shape.

I still have to measure, mark and drill all the holes for the upper and lower moldings. This could be tricky because the original tailgate is badly deformed.

Got the cowl grille media blasted and sprayed with epoxy primer.

The factory never had perfect panel Gaps or alignment they only got them Close.

It wasn't till the restoration craze of the 90s-2000s that people started Geeking over door and panel gaps.
My Charger and the Plymouth have 1/2" door gaps across the bottom from the factory!
The door hinges have never been off or adjusted. Then the Old Pontiac firebirds the dang doors drooped when New!

Got the upper and lower tailgate moldings installed.
Reproduction stuff isn't near the quality of the original.

Where did you get the trim from?

I always wonder if the Mar-K stuff is as good as they say it is.

The truck is looking awesome BTW!
