I used pin and slide hammer to pull the bulk of my dings out. Any bare steel got a brush on cote of cre epoxy. I'm doing everything I can to avoid using any filler directly on the steel. I understand that's the way it was done in the past, but I'm trying the newer concept of filling on top of epoxy. Second, I'm doing as much Hamer dolly and stud work as I can to avoid needing anything but glaze, I know there are awesome fillers out there but I love the way upol glaze feathers.
In the pics you'll see my method for glazing over the body line with the intent to keep it arrow straight. It's a fairly pronounced line and I need to take special care to keep the detail consistent the length of the body. Bear in mind the door has no latch so it looks off, the line does carry through to the quarter. |
