Well the viscosity cup is more for beginners,You trust the cup and do your best to be accurate.I typically scoop from the big can into a littler one so I can add small amounts easily. Stopped by a different shop today and asked about the upol high build.Forsure you need to reduce a little. If it doesn't spray flat then reduce a little more. |

I’ll start blocking it tomorrow. Been a few days so should be ready.

My plan now is block sand, fix hi lows, reduce primer a little more and spray. If not just for more practice. Then turn truck around ,weld in other side patch panel. Hopefully its sunny that day. Thanks |

Managed some sanding time. Kinda feels good as your sanding watching the guide coat disappear. Some lows some highs. How do I get rid of this high spot. Circled in pencil see pic. I don’t have a shrinker or a torch. Hammer dolly only. Now I have comma shaped dolly. Long curve don’t know what it’s called. Say could I flip it over so touching only on the top and bottom of high spot.pound on the high spot.see pic.
Pic of high spot and some low. I think I maybe able to sand more on the lows. |

Yes, BUT the right way would be to use a hi crown dolly placed around edges of high spot from back side (on the low side edges of the hi spot) and tap lightly on Hi spot at same time working the dolly around the hi spot. It doesn't take much and you only tap with a low crown hammer.
If you can no longer get to back side of panel with dolly you cant do this, That's why I asked about wheel well. Another acceptable way would be to sand it back a little more and use a shrinking disk on it OR a stud welder with a shrinking tip. If you do not have a shrinking disk OR a stud welder with a shrinking tip you are forced to Tap directly on Hi spot this is not the right way to do it! Some would use a Pick hammer again not the right way to do it. Dennis B.
