Getting ready to paint my 39 Ford Coupe on a rotisserie. Bracing was installed while the metal fabrication was done and included new quarter panels, floors, lower cowels, firewall. Doors and deck lid were all reworked, gapped with the cab on its new chassis and removed. The cab remains on the rotisserie ready for paint. The question is, could I remove the bracing before I paint which would make it easier and I wouldn’t be cutting and grinding near finished paint? My concern is any movement in the body that would throw off my door gaps.

If the Bracing doesn't touch the door Jambs I would leave it alone.
You can always mask off the Paint to remove, Just me but You already adjusted doors for the body on chassis with the bracing. It could flex and then your starting over on doors at least.

But Like I said b4 I wouldn't paint whole body on the spit, lots of people do though, I cant say which is right or wrong. I just going off of past experience of damaging stuff during reassembly.

Very Cool project by the way.
