I have had this car for about two years and I’m on the last phase which is exterior. This more for therapy as a retired alcoholic. One day I just decided to name it “Blu Tunder” due to it being a dark blue and the Flowmaster exhaust. With so many layers of primer and paint it’s probably best to just chemical strip as much as possible.

Do these big head rivets have a specific name? I’m separating these two to strip all the pant off

I would avoid chemical Stripping at all costs leaves a worse mess to deal with never gets cracks crevices clean always end up with more disassembly and sanding to get it right ends up being a lot more work in my opinion.
Just Sand it with DA and Blast rust spots and hard to get areas clean then Paint/body work.

After experimenting I will go with heat gun/scrape, DA and stripper in nooks and crannies. Found some spots under paint where the side molding was that had rusted however I suspect that it wasn’t treated prior to painting. Now back to the nose piece which is the most time consuming
