Dealers are not an option as most parts are not available 6-7 years after production ends.
Rock auto has Less! they dont have A lot of stuff, I have and do buy parts from them they have some good deals on stuff if it available.

Their is real issues going on in the Aftermarket world, and no one is talking about it or reporting on it I think they have all caved in to the Bidon administrations whims of going to an all electric economy and are running scared after Covid they reopened but are not all going into full production on anything, I think they all lost employees that are not coming back and they are all scaling back fearing a Big rescission. When people really figure it all out its gonna be Checkmate on the whole world!

THE CRAZY people are in charge that have NO CLUE!

Had some issues with the fan shroud fitting but sorted it out and it's running great. Replaced the top motor and cylinders, seems to be good. The upholstery shop is booked until the end of March but that's ok, weather isn't great anyway. I need to start on adjusting the windows. That will probably be a pain, I hate finicky stuff.

I got the engine in the Nissan and fired it off it runs, Got some FINICKY stuff to finalize LOL!

Couldn't help myself :rotfl:

Seriously I just got it back together and fired it off without coolant, Timing needs to be set but not with out fully warmed up that means coolant.
Father in law had an aftermarket AC system installed in it and they MIcky moused a bunch of stuff including the Belt system I dunno how it worked before But Belt removed is too long now which is really weird and I have belt adjustment maxed out...Belt to long.
Called it a night came in and lo and behold the Factory service manual showed up, at least I know what to set the timing to now.

I found that all 4 struts are shot and the front Wheel bearing Hubs are also shot, Ordered Bearing and seals for the Hubs and front struts rears are NOT available.
Bunch of stuff not available like radiator hoses.

Adjust, check, readjust, check x 20 = finicky :goodjob:

I still can't believe that you can't get basic parts for a 10 or so year old car. Not everyone has the coin to run out and buy a new car. I only put about 5000 miles a year on my truck. Properly maintained it could last 40+ years.

Well new job is more than I anticipated challenging is a strong understatement.
I am middle management in my new position Very frustrating from above and bellow.

I got the Nissan almost finished Just have to do the lower Ball joints today and re-bleed the brakes today then it will be done and I can get back to my own projects.
Trying to get shop reorganized again very challenging! trying to reorganize and create new storage solutions.

Reordered another new set of pistons for Jeep Hemi project as Machinist ordered wrong set, and refused responsibility even though he was paid to and had everything in order to order the correct set. I will be selling the ones he got me on ebay at a reduced price.
I have been using same machinist for over 20 years and this was last project I will ever take him, I found a guy who is local who does nice work and is very fast.
Company I ordered new set of pistons from Racetec is the same company he used, they are telling me 10-12 week wait time!!!!!!! I may call a few other custom piston company's today and see what their wait time is for custom set.

10 - 12 weeks seems to be the new normal since COVID somehow caused supply issues. Took me that long to get most of the last Stang parts. Could be worse, I've waited over 2 years for the rocker shaft spacers and just found out whoever was making them no longer does. Could be a one man shop and he retired o worse.

I finally got the other door off the TR, a slotted, tapered head bolt doesn't give you much leverage when it's stuck bad.

Sorry to hear the new job is a pain even if it's a bonus to work in town. Hope it gets better

Are you restoring it or just getting it respectable? They're a nice looking truck.

The Stang is going in for the new top in just over a week. Really looking forward to finally finishing it.

The TR continues to be a challenge. A lot of hidden damage
