I figured out the turn signals, there was a couple long wires as well. I guess the short ones go to the steering column but I had expected the column wiring to have a plug in connector so that's kind of weird. This is an American autowire made for 65 mustang. It's very nicely labeled, can't complain about that but following the instructions leaves lots of unanswered questions that I guess will make sense later. I hope.

The Harness's I have played with over the years all have been Plug and Play except where the ends needed to be spliced into my connectors. for the odd one not supplied or the wires were left long to be able to run them to hide them. But at same time things like the steering column plug was all pre wired as was the fuse box stuff it was things like the lights and blinker lights that I had to splice the plug ends on.

Being an electronics tech I am just as much at home doing wiring as I am building an engine or doing a Break job it just doesn't intimidate me.

I remember fixing all the wiring in a 48 Lincoln zepher I had years ago that had me chasing my Tail and pulling my hair out! It never had a Fuse box in it from the factory it had a Interrupter circuit box instead. all the cars circuits went through this box.
I would find and repair one short get power on the circuit for a minute and then the interrupter would open again due to another short some place in the harness or the circuit I just repaired.
being a 48 it had that fabric covering that deteriorates over the years. What I was doing was going through the harness and putting Shrink wrap over all the wires where it was bad. It took me a while but I got every circuit working properly but the radio it needed Tubes to fix it that where not available or where extremely expensive at the time and I never found any company putting a 6 volt solid state radio conversion out and I wanted to keep the 6 volt system. It was a fun project.

Well you're way ahead of me with your wiring skills. I'm fine with residential wiring but the auto wiring is new to me other than basic stuff. This is pretty much the same as what you've had, connectors everywhere but the long runs and for some reason the steering column, unless I'm wrong about that but I don't see how I could be.

That is a really cool car, I've never seen that year as far as I can recall. Trying to wire that from scratch would be brutal. I have enough problems trying to follow along with a tailor made kit.

2 years of pure electronics and a 30 years of chasing wire problems on Planes wiring on Cars is a breeze. Not saying I don't pull my Hair out once in a while but easy for most part for me.

Well This weekend found me finally Blasting the Sub frame, rear end, Back side of doors, and Dutchman panel for the Bird.
Hung the frame, rearend up in the booth So I could spray them down with Epoxy. I washed em down with Water born Wax and grease remover should have used a Chemical type as they flash rusted in few spots and after closer inspection of the frame I found a crack at the left hand lower rear control arm mount not good! (Thats kinda scary infact!)
I am gonna bring it back down and out in the shop and grind the crack out and weld it up before Paint. The metal didn't separate but the crack is their.
I am also thinking that I should metal treat it with my Cold Galvanizing treatment before painting with epoxy do to the Flash rust. Not sure if I will or not yet? I May just wire wheel it and call it good its only surface flash in a small area.

All I have left to blast are the front fenders and the front lower Valance panel, I am gonna get those down today out of my rafters and get the back sides blasted today.

I havn't found all my front suspension stuff yet, I found the Plymouth stuff.
This sucks too many parts laying around the shop this will NEVER happen again!
One project at at ime from now on period!
I want to get the Bird off the Rotisserie and make it a roll again

Weather is not cooperating, starting to get cold in the mornings and evenings and we had a wind storm last night, been blowing hard all night still gusting pretty good now as well. wont be long and the rain will start and the Temps will really start dropping.

Sounds like you're making good progress, that's a lot of blasting. Good to have that out of the way. Too bad about the frame crack but at least you noticed it, should be good as new after welding.

I have the same problem with parts, they are somewhat organized but there's no good reason to have several cars in pieces.

Still slowly picking away at the wiring. Just routing it but I don't remember where it all goes so it's going slowly. I need to paint some parts, heater, braces, steering column, etc.

Weather hasn't been great here either, just below freezing the last few mornings. Kind of early for that, supposed to warm up a bit this week.

Its suppose to freeze tonight I hear.
No fun here it was just baking over 110 a couple weeks ago now its freezing

I haven't done squat all week today I went out and tried to do something.....So I did some metal shrinking on the Trunk lid and one of the doors to the Bird then I had to do the Jeeps power steering hi press line so I can take it out tomorrow going on a Run threw Red Rocks in Vegas. Supposed to be a Good trail for 4x4 will see.

Yeah I haven't done much either. I'm going to prime some small parts this afternoon and then paint them in the morning. Once I install them I can get back to wiring. I can't believe how much wire goes into such a basic car.
I've decided to keep the original single reservoir master cylinder and booster for now and upgrade later. I can't get a clear cut answer on what to go with.
