Sorry, I've been MIA :whoops:

The Stang is painted for the most part, need to reclear a few panels. I had some issues with these little flys that got deep into the paint. No idea where they came from, cleaned the booth, didn't see anything. No problems with the sealer or the 3 coats of base but the clear was a big problem with them. Everything painted on the flat had a bug in it :realmad:
Another issue is I'm using different products than I'm used to, no problem with the base but the clear runs easier than the old stuff, so I have a few runs to scrape down

What do you use to post pics? My photobucket account is being held hostage and I don't want to pay the ransom

Their you are Long time no hear?
I been working a lot the commuting back and forth is a killer on my ambition to work in the shop been thinking about moving but would have to build a new shop doesn't sound like much fun to me but may be what I end up doing.

Happy to here about your progress on the Stang :goodjob:

I too have problems with Bugs occasionally depends on time of year, they are attracted to the smell of the clear I think?
I just let them sit and sand them off after clear cures then Buff or re clear panel depends on how much clear I had on panel before they landed in it.

As far as pics go, I gave in to the Photoshop ransom Their program is easy to use compared to others I have tried and I did not like how the others were set up or how it worked.
You can always use this web sights pic hosting feature from Criss. But I don't think you can Hot link your pics to other web sights from here, I wanted to be able to do that as I am on a few other web sights occasionally.
I don't like the charge but for $45 a year I can live with it I guess.

Just post your pictures on this site.
I thought it was outrageous how Photobucket turned on its users they way it did, so as a matter of principle I quit using their site.

I too did not appreciate what Photobucket did, but what are you gonna do?
They could have done a better job of advertising there decision and what action they planned to take. In the end They are a business and are in it to make money just like any of us I get that, I also understand that what they had been doing for free in the end had to be costing them something to maintain it so I forgive them.

So in the end I look at it like this it was a Great free trial I liked their product and will buy into it.

It started off ok, I think it was just under $60 for 3 years, now it's $60 for one year (Cdn), and will probably go up every year. Can't print my pics either, guess you have to pay them to do it, nice guys.

Well if you do move you can always try to find a place with a shop. Not sure how difficult that would be where you are, not too bad in my neck of the woods. Commuting as far as you do would be tough.

Since my bug problems I bought a bug pick that a friend told me about, you kind of screw the bug out while the paint is fresh, not sure if my hands are steady enough to do that but I'll try next time it happens. Definitely something about the clear, it does kind of have a sweet smell, maybe that attracts them?

Ya that current CEO is playing with the plan prices again its gone up since I signed up I see.
Greed plain and simple! If he keeps raising it he will loose customers for sure $60 is pushing it.

I never had much luck picking them out did better letting them sit till cured.

Hi guys, what a year. :knockout: :knockout: :knockout: Sorry I’ve been so quiet but what started as a remodel turned out to be a 90% tear down and rebuild. :flatten: :flatten: :flatten: We final moved into our new house a little before Thanksgiving and are still unpacking boxes. We got the garage finished first so we could get the 38 and an additional storage unit stopped. Turned a 2 car garage into a 5 car garage with a small shop.

I’ve put about 600 miles on the 38 with really no problems other than a broken fan belt that is so crazy custom it will take considerable time to fix and my back has really gotten so bad (I need another operation but t afraid to do it). Dave and Adam will be coming to get it this Wednesday hopefully get the small problems worked out. I’ve shown it a few times and had great complements. Still no interior in the car as all the money has gone to the house. Only thing I really don’t like about the car is the rear end its a 2.50 and it’s a dog out of the hole and barely gets out of 3rd at 75 in the freeway.

I’ve kept up with you guys but have kept quiet as the only thing I’ve done is work on the house. I'm also very upset with Photobucket :realmad: .
it needs to be lowered with big and littles. .

Hey Doug Great to here from you! :bighug:
its been very quite around here lately  I only get on any more on my days off any more myself and look around no new comments and I duck out myself.

I have not done much with any of my junk lately, so no new posts from me. :whoops:

But I finally got off my fat but and started putting my engine together for my Vett ran out of part excuses as the last of them finally arrived so I got the crank, pistons, cam, timing chain, and oil pump in it today gonna finish buttoning it up tomorrow then start putting it in. I'm soo not looking forward to it seams like the older I get the lazier I get just cant get excited about this stuff anymore just more work and money to spend.

So about the engine....
I decked the block and the heads to boost the compression a we bit  after assembly it appears that the slugs are sitting above the deck by .005 which is kinda scary  I have have to double check clearances with heads and valves with the gaskets :knockout: I also ported the heads myself  and am putting a little .550 inch cam in it wish I had went with a .600 though! :realmad: and bought some long tube header kit with an X crossover for it  , and I think I have an LS6 manifold on a project race car out back I still have to go pull it and see if it truly is as LS6 manifold or not? the guy I got the car from said it was :pcorn: if not I just have to buy a manifold for it. looking at the LSX manifold with the big throttle body.
(That would give me an excuse not to work on it and sit on my **** for a while any way
will see if I get lucky or not?} :bored:
But in the end It should scoot pretty good after I get it tuned will see....

Well I finally got the Vett engine back together last night missing a few things I cant find but I should be able to get it back in the car today today I hope.

My VW engine decided to start making funny noises I just let it sit and concentrate on the Vett for time being as its the closest I have ready to run out of all my projects.
