I ordered my wiring harness and some gauges. Still a little bit of body and paint to do.
If this works here's a couple of pictures of the current ride height. The first pic is the back, I'm going to use lowering blocks to get it down, no idea why it's so high, anyone else using these springs has the car at least 2" lower than mine.
The 2nd pic is the front which is an even bigger mystery. It has the upper control arm drop, supposed to lower the car by 5/8" and 1" drop springs and I'm sitting like there's no engine in the car. Edit, 1st pic is the front

That was an all new performance suspension system wasn't it?
A lot of New suspension kits with springs even lowering springs say in there advertisements its normal for new springs to be higher when first installed and droop quickly after driving.

You may want to contact the company that made them first and confirm what I am saying before adding the lowering blocks. Just a suggestion.

I finally finished up ALL my little welding repairs on the bird still a bunch of grinding to do Im have to get some more Glass to blast the bottom real quick then Wash car and treat with Dupont's 5717 and 5718 then it will be time for a coat of Epoxy and on into Fillers and primer!

I can actually say I am excited to start the actual body work  only took me 6 years! But I can Brag I have a completely rust free 70 Firebird

 :knockout: :flatten:  :whoops:

Thank god I don't do this stuff for a living, I would starve to death!

Yup it's all new performance suspension. Obviously I haven't driven it but I installed it several years ago so I don't see it suddenly dropping 3". I talked to the guy I got it from who's incredibly knowledgeable and he has no idea about the back and thinks maybe the wrong springs were sent for the front. I doubt that's the case, pretty sure I have some sort of unicorn mustang where it's somehow different than the other million, that's really the way my luck tends to be.

It's funny how you get excited to move onto the next step even though you know it won't be that much fun. It's at least different and a step closer to the end. If you think 6 years is bad I'm probably at 20 on the stang, did do a few others along the way but still rather pathetic.

Yes I know, I did knock out a Lot in between but yes its Pathetic in my opinion 6 years is a long time I started with really good intentions of just knocking it out real quick lol.
Amazing how the big projects get pushed to the side when other things take precedence.

I'm Just happy the Rust horror is over though.

Yeah, getting through the rust horror is a great feeling! Hopefully the bodywork goes well, a lot of sanding, I have a pretty basic step by step system that works for me. If I rush any of the steps I always regret it.

Im not gonna rush it looks like will going back to work soon.
No start back date yet though, Gonna keep plugging away at it.

I got more glass today as Planned along with some Seam sealer and some more Hardner for my Filler one I got got smashed went all over bench made a mess.

My new compressor no like My air cooler/water separator set up makes a lot of water lately so I am gonna go pick up some pipe to get the air to cool down more.
Gonna redesign the whole deal to deal with it.
Will install 80 feet of new pipe in an S pattern before my expansion tanks and first stage filter and eliminate all my 3/4 air hose I was using for cooling its just not cutting it with this new compressor.
Wish I could get one of those refrigerated coolers their cool.

What type of compressor did you get?
I need to do some work on mine once I'm finished all the painting, my drain valve is plugged up so I can't drain it. Obviously it's a total pain getting to it so I've been putting it off.

I traded one of my Old Quads for a 50 CFM Ingersol Rand pump that was in really good shape by the looks of it, but its driven by a 5 hp motor and sits on a 40-50? gal tank.
The motor and the Tank are is way too small needs a 10-15 hp motor and I am working on a deal for a 200 gal tank.
It works well enough as is but could be a lot better I wanted it just for the Pump which was worth north of 3k closer to 4 on some web sights. All in all I think I got a screaming deal on it.

Got up early today been out there ALL day blasting on the Bird got the bottom of the floor done and the interior floor panels all clean. I am going to metal treat it tomorrow wash it and bring it in for Epoxy.

I don't know if I mentioned it or not but I finally broke down and Ordered a Leading kit from Eastwood. I am hoping to do some needed Lead filler work in the Sail panels on a Few projects with it, Wish me Luck!

My Gas welder set Oxy regulator took a dump on me other day and started leaking O2 badly its a brand new regulator! I saved my old one I have to send both out for rebuild now

A 200 gallon tank with a monster motor sounds amazing. Mine is 7.5 with an 80 gallon, works well but still runs more than I would like, noisy too. A hot rod builder buddy of mine had an old 3ph belly type compressor that was crazy quiet. I always wanted that one.

Keep me posted on the lead kit and how well it works. If I ever finish the stang my 64 Riv is next and it's got issues in the sail panel as well. I was just going to use glass filler but maybe the lead would be better.
