Still no sign of stuff ordered from Eastwood.
I never did like that company but their lead kit is only game around.

I Got the Bird all metal treated its officially Cold Galvanized now and ready for Epoxy.
Will do first coats of Epoxy Today! Finally!
I am very happy with the metal treatment came out great.
I have to give Thanks to Calvin and his Buddy Trevor for helping me with it. That stuff is so Labor intensive too use properly. there really is no way to use it correctly with only one person when doing a whole car.

I also washed my Booth out that was a fiasco in it self, Gonna have to replace all my Booth filters before I get to Base coat and clear.

Well I had the Boys again yesterday we did a quick clean up of the shop then I did a quick lesson on How to adjust gun showed them a few tricks coached them for about 15 min and Turned em loose Shooting the Bird with first coat of Epoxy,

I couldn't watch!!!!!

EH' its Not a Total disaster, we do have some some heavy spots and a few Runs But hell its only the first coat and I can Block sand out the runs its really not that bad, I am surprised they did pretty good for first timers mistakes were inevitable I knew this and I know how to correct them.
Gonna put it out in the Sun today for a while start some seam sealer work and Filler.

Well it never made it outside in the sun, couldn't get any help moving it outside.
So I started in on Filler work what a Mess. I hate the stuff. so much dust.

I wish I could put enough on to get the correct shape out of it the first time.
All My Patches in the Quarters have warped the skin pretty good in some areas Nothing over an 1/8 inch as I planished my welds but still, I knew some sections were going to need a good amount I was right.
I am using Short strand Fiber glass filler at this point should be strong and water proof over the Epoxy and last longer than I will.

Strange I never got any alerts that you added more here.
Sounds like you're getting ahead although the primer sounds like 2 steps forward, one step back.
I can never do the filler in one go either, wish I could.

On a more serious note, is everything okay down there? Heard there was a sizeable earthquake and a 56 year old guy had a Jeep fall off jack stands and kill him in your town

I hadn't heard that one yet, But I don't listen or watch tv. I only follow fox & cnn online in mornings and its lacking in real news content.

I was sound asleep when it hit slept right through it no damage here? Cal's Mustang was on Two post lift too at the time! could have been bad.

Work on the bird continues, Man that fiberglass stuff sands like Steel hard as a rock.
I am mixing it by weight on gram scale doing math to calculate correct amount of activator Dam stuff is mixing Hot! have less than 3 min to get it on panel before it sets up.
I have cut it by a gram on the activator and its still hot.

Happy to hear you're ok and no damage was done. Lucky the mustang didn't fall off the lift.
Yeah it's like sanding concrete. Hard to get the mix right as there's no real color change. The other fillers I use you can see right away with the color.

I am mixing correct per instructions and am lucky to get 2 min working time out of it.
Ya Sanding it sucks as well. I am almost through with the quarters now, ruffed in good pretty close to just High build maybe a little normal filler here and their.

I still need to Blast rear end and Sub frame & suspension pieces, will be working on all these things this week Plus the doors will need to make a Trip to Vegas for more Glass for rear end and sub frame.
I really need to Build a Blasting shed so I can recover all this media I am currently spraying all over yard in front of shop, waist of money at 11 bucks a bag.

I don't use the glass filler over large areas so that helps. Over welds in case of pin holes and near edges for strength. Would be impossible to spread it over a large area before it hardened.
I have a small blast cabinet I use for small parts. For big stuff we have a glass bead blaster less than 10 minutes away which is handy. They do powder coating as well.
