My Cousin found a 65 Mustang Hard top he wants me to go look at with him locally.
Its about 90% done guy wants out of it I guess? selling as is unfinished restoration.
Pics of it look ok, paint is already done seats are done and in it but that's about it.
Wiring not done, glass not in, engine is in it but it doesn't run or drive yet.
A lot of chrome missing or not installed.

Will see what happens

Hopefully he has lots of restoration pics. They have so many areas that rust out, should be a lot better where you are if it's from that area.

Well I got half a Business OR sell or trade/sell Im on fence.

Workin on a deal to score a 6.0 LS Block heads crank rods for the Firebird project IF I can manage to get everything else I need to put it together? 6 speed computer harness acc drive stuff ect. ect.

What is that? Chroming setup?

Looks like a bit of work to set up.

How is the bird progressing? I'm still picking away at the Stang. Need to make a bracket for the throttle return spring. My lokar trans tunnel mount ebrake isn't going to work. It's designed to mount from the bottom but now that I have the driveshaft in you can't even get your finger in between the two. What a lousy design, going to have to figure out how to mount it from the top. Would be nice if anything went according to plan :rolleyes:

Sure would be nice lol nothing seams to though that's why I generally live life one day at a time rarely making plans for anything.

Ya Plating stuff copper chrome and more I think I am just gonna sell the stuff off keep a couple for myself to do the stuff I do.

That's pretty cool, would be great to be able to plate your own stuff. Just small stuff like door handles would be a real bonus.

I have been doing it for a while now Just using Buckets for Tanks.
I admit you need to be doing more than a few parts to justify the investment.
But it is very satisfying making 50+ year old parts, hardware look new again.

Non of the Tanks are big enough to do bumpers but they are just a phone call away already been in touch with a supplier.

I would love to be able to do that, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get some extra parts to do from local car clubs and shops. Chroming is crazy expensive up here. The little 4 cyl valve cover for my TR cost $350 to rechrome.

Chroming is not all that hard, but the chemicals are expensive as are the Anodes.
But once you have the chemicals you never throw the stuff out you just add to it.
The Anodes go pretty fast and they are not cheap but its amazing how many parts you can do with each one.

I haven't gotten the chemicals for chroming yet but I will get them I also plan to get some others such as Gold again ungodly expensive, but thats because they are generally 99.9 % pure.

I just mixed up a batch of Copper and Nickle Acetate.
They were made with Distilled water and Vinegar Salt and the actual metals.
Great for small parts! and produces good results with minimum investment for $50 bucks and a few battery's or a small battery charger you could be doing small parts.

There are many different formulas for mixing the chemicals most all are Proprietary mixes using different chemicals when commercially purchased Pro stuff which I will be purchasing. You get better results with Pro stuff.
