Rob I think I would have him redo those tail light bezels. If he’s left graining in there he didn’t do enough copper fill and poor buffing. That kind of stuff bugs the crap out of me no one else made ever notice but I know it’s there . Better picture of Dave's Riv.

Yeah these things eat at me too, a lot actually, but I don't see him fixing it unless I throw a big pile of money at him and I don't want to do that. If you want to pick nits, even the good stuff has a lot of imperfections, especially when you put your reading glasses on There's really no options for getting chrome done up here, as it was my bumper had to be shipped out to a place that had a more powerful electroplater? whatever it's called to get into that recessed area.

The good news is the rest of the car needs way more attention so I won't be taking it to Pebble anytime soon

Oh, that is a much better pic of the Riv! Very nice 66 or 67, the satin black look really works for me I saw GS badging on it, is it a dual quad setup or was that just the 65 that had that?

Rob I cant see any imperfections in the pictures I'm sure you can in person if you say they are there. I am gonna use PainterDave for a lot of my small chrome pieces especially for the interior stuff. He has that special chrome mirror paint set up very expensive to get into. But it Looks just like a mirror when done tho and cleared, Very tough coating from what I understand and doesn't flake or peal when if it is ever scratched plus you can use regular old filler under it. 1/4-1/2 the cost in chrome from what I understand looks every bit as good.
The out side stuff I will still get Chromed The Stainless I will do myself the Aluminum Trim I will polish myself but not sure who to send it too yet to get it re Anodized for protection.
I have a Lot of Pot metal pieces I have to repair before chroming as well with a lot of pitting I want to try that Muggy weld for Pot metal repair on those? To fill in the Pitting They say it can be chromed over?
They say chrome work is all in the prep before copper flashing I want to work with a chrome guy so I can do as much as possible before work to keep costs down.

I Need to take some Pics of my California room mates 64-65 (I cant remember which) Riviera. the car is Perfect very much Museum quality a number 1 show car in every way.
She restored it herself, her second one! she crashed the first. She says her first one was nicer and drove better any way she has an Original dual quad set up for a Riv Manifold correct carbs air cleaner whole 9 yards just sitting there on the shelf she knows exactly what it is too and she is very Proud of it.

It's hard to get pics of the imperfections, once you get the camera close enough, the lights and shine/reflection off the chrome make the pic totally crazy. There's a lot of little issues but for the most part you can't see them unless you get right close up which most people wouldn't when looking at the car.

I've seen the work PainterDave has done with the chrome spray, certainly looks great in the pics!

In hind sight maybe I should have figured out how to do some of the prep work. I talked to a rod builder I know up here and he recommended the other chrome shop, naturally

I'd like to see a pic of that Riv if you ever find one. A dual quad setup would be pretty cool, other than the gas mileage which is pretty darn bad even with the 4 barrel.

Gas mileage? Whats that?

My Cars and My Trucks will pass anything BUT a Gas pump!
The exception would be My VW and my 69 Dodge is Ok on Fuel The GTO is till I turn on the AC or put the peddle in the go position funny my Foot seams to live there after so many years of driving the VW lol

Really? I thought it was a Great price a few years ago they were up in the fifty's for a 58 chevy and basket cases were 5-15

I thought the Impala was on the high side too, but you'd have to see it in person to really know. If it's totally rot free maybe it's not so bad a deal? The Stang would be a pretty good price if the car was solid, getting harder to find a decent fastback. I would love to have one, do up the suspension, drop a stroker in it and have some fun

I'm trying to figure out how the springs go on my 38 glove box door and one would think after everything else I have figured out I (and everyone helping me) just can't. Sense I can't post pictures on photobucket unless I pay $365 + I'll post um here and send the link over to VCCA chat where a bunch of real helpful vintage Chevy guys know thing like this.
