Try to sand the runs only,,,If you keep sanding the rest of the area your gonna cut through it.
Dont use the 1200 until you cut the run out with the 600. The 1200 should only be used to remove the 600 scratches.
It looks like you need to use a smaller block also.

O-Yeah,,,Try to stay away from that body line crease next to the wheel opening. Thats one area thats VERY easy to cut through.

Take your time!

Making progress! But those faint outlines will show. So, you might
want to buff a little, sand a little, and buff some more...

Try stepping up to 1500 grit as you're "fine tuning" the surface.
And use a harder block (piece of hard wood, plexiglass, etc.).

And when buffing - go SLOW and watch the edges! You might
want to invest in a small 3" polisher to do edges and tight areas.

:)

As ODG mentioned sand the runs only. Looks like you're sanding
too much outside the runs (do that later).

I will use a harder, smaller block and try to be more accurate. Thanks for the tips.

Break a piece off a rigid paint stick i have always had goodluck with that. Man i hope you can save that, i would also be pretty easy with the buffer you have to be gettin pretty thin by now. Its always that one last swipe. I am with ODG though i would block it flat and reclear it if i were you. Mainly because if you blow through, then you could run into to Lifting and all sorts of new problems. Plus she'll look slicker then hell if you block and reclear, that quater anyway LOL.

Wish ya luck take er slow it might come out.

They can cause more problems than you think. Use a pencil when you have to mark on a car.................

thanks for the warning odg. im aware that sharpies will bleed through everything, but i have been using it to guidecoat runs and sags(on clear only) and havent had any problems with it. could this cause a problem in the long run?? thanks

Might be because the thicker areas were softer. Let it sit for a few days and block it again with a hard block and some 1500.

Don't take this the wrong way 6t8dart,,,but you don't "block" anything with 1500. You remove scratches with it.............
