Here's some jobs i've done a while ago. Their reinforced GMC envoy hoods (that weight a friggin ton) that needed some grit in the clear. Apparently the people driving them need to walk up onto the roof from time to time for some reason. They told us they wanted some sand blasted into them. We consulted our rep and said it would be fine to do. so the process is one coat of sealer, one coat of sand shot ten feet away with the sandblaster, another coat of sealer, base/clear. It provided a small grit which was perfect, I was very surprised at how well this held up after some testing.

Thats pretty cool..............................I would think that they would just put on huge decals, like the stuff on the deck of a skateboard. I am assuming that the sand is for grip when they walk on it. Neat stuff

ya, I don't know why they wanted to do it this way...maybe so it looks like a civilian vehicle. the entire vehicle was reinforced. It was pretty neat. http://www.autobodyreviews.com
