Greetings. I need to make 1 1/2 inch diameter holes in my new Armour Bodies fiberglass motorcycle fairing. The fiberglass is about 3/32 inch thick. The holes are for plastic frame protectors.
What is the process for making these holes so they are clean without fiberous strings? Do I use a fine tooth hole saw?
Thank you.

I been building kit cars for the last 50 years or so. Currently I like to use an air powered body saw with a fine tooth blade on it for that thickness. I like to apply high tack yellow or green auto painters tape to both sides of the area that I am going to cut. If you can only get to one side that should be okay as well. When I mark and cut the hole I like to run the cut just to the inside of the mark so IF there is any tendancy for a loose fiber I can easily run a fine Dremel tool around there truing up the cut. Pic. I stuck on here is my Smyth Dodge Charger UTE conversion. We had many holes to cut for various sensors, wire routing, etc. Most of our fiberglass was about the thickness you doing..... Probably for no more holes than you are cutting even something like this would be fine.... https://www.harborfreight.com/electric- ... 65766.html
