I'm restoring a 66 Corvair, and I'm changing the color of the interior to white and silver/grey from all black. I need to paint all of the interior panels, most of which are hard textured plastic, but there are two main dash panels and the glove compartment door that are metal. I also need to paint the steering wheel, which is hard plastic, and will probably paint the sun visors that are upholstered in a nylon-like cloth. (I can buy reproduction sun visors in white as option 2.) Ideally I use the same paint so white color is consistent across all of the panels. I've been recommended SEM "super white 15103" since I'm told it's very close color match to the white vinyl upholstery of the seats.

Can I use the SEM paint for all of these applications? What preparation steps should I be concerned with? (E.g. In an other thread I was alerted to interior parts being contaminated by cigarette smoke - these are 50 year old panels. )

Thanks!
Ken
