Look at Adtech P17. It's a structural filler made for fiberglass/marine applications. I've used it on my corvette restoration, it's very strong and it's now the only thing I will put on a corvette or fiberglass, I use it specifically to add edge to doors. It would take some surgical work to close your gaps without much paint, but this would be easier than anything else I could think of.
