When you guys wetsand a bumper getting ready to prime prime, how do you know when to stop wet sanding? I went from 80-180 dry to strip the paint and now I'm doing 220 wet getting ready to prime. Not sure when to stop, what is my goal for 220 is it to get rid of the 80 and 180 scratches and get some adhesion for the primer

I stop when I can see the floor..... :knockout:

Seriously, you're not really gaining much with P220 wet after P180 dry. They're almost the same.

What I normally do is P320 dry on a DA just to take off the hairy bits that the coarser grades have ripped up on the plastic. Most decent high fill primers will take care of P180 scratching anyway, even 1K. Then block the primer with P800 wet - if there are any scratches not filled you should see them after squeegeeing off.
