Hey guys! I found what could potentially be a good deal on a 20+ year old OEM New Old Stock plastic bumper for a car that I am restoring. Problem is that it is sun faded. Looks like it may have sat out as a display. Its about $100-200 cheaper then a used one and $150 cheaper then aftermarket.

Any potential issues you guys can think of why you might stay away from it? Or would you buy it and run like you stole it?

Thanks!

Look closely at the sun "fading". If it is dull due to micro cracks in the paint, it will need to be stripped all the way down before painting. Other than that, no issues.

If you do decide that it needs stripping....no chemicals, and only drop down in grit to maybe 80 to100 grit range. You just have to watch old plastics when sanding. If you kind of get off angle with the sander they'll catch and dig and you'll chunk out the plastic.
