I have a Firebird notchback hatch that is listed as fiberglass but looks like the later FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) hoods... that Pontiac used.
Someone filled the Firebird (Trans Am) spoiler holes, I can still see them from the bottom, and drilled 4 bolt holes along the back edge to install a camaro rear spoiler, maybe 3/8-1/2" around and the hatch is about 1/4" or so thick there.
I'd like to fill those holes permanently, I'll bother doing the bodywork to make them flush on both sides. Will chamfering the top and bottom edges and filling them with short-strand fiberglass filler be sufficient or do I need to use some actual fiberglass matt to fill/cover the holes?
