In this Img top right panel on the gas tank and left panel on the fender, how is this done? It looks like a lace job using an airbrush to only hit certain areas????

Yes that's exactly what it looks like. What you could do is stretch the lace over the part, use magnets to hold it in place, then use a template to "mask" off the areas you don't want paint to go. I would use an Artool template. For example, I love the Mike Lavallee Try Fire templates but i use then for much more than real fire. Check out the template in the link below. See the cutout on the top side? When i need to quickly mask something off, I place that edge around what I need to mask off. BTW I love this style of paint.
