Got most of the bike in epoxy this weekend. Had some problem with induction time. Apparently it takes a lot longer than the 10 minutes stated in the tech sheet.
First pic is my reflection on the tank. If this was the first session of clear I would be extatic. Second pic is the tank from further away. Third pic is a part I sprayed before the epoxy fully induced. Last pic is most of the parts curing.

Tech sheets are for reference only as a "guide"
And do not hold you to following that specific direction. Something all manufacturers should tell you. A proper tech sheet would be 8 pages long to properly state what you should do and when you should do it Here's a company that states that Experienced Trained Certified

Progress... First session, 5 parts, zero problems. Black, pearl, and a coat of clear to protect it. The rear fender is done until flow coat.
Hope to get the rest of the parts to this point next weekend. |

Second session went great. Only 8 more to go. Laying out the design on the tank took longer than I thought it would. I kept changing and tweaking things right down to the end. Came out good tho.

Sunday's progress. Wish I had more time to spend on this project. But at least I continue to make progress.
Light undercoat of a coarse silver, some shading in black with the airbrush, 4 coats of HOK KBC Candy Apple Red with a good helping of Cherry Pie red micro flake, and 2 coats of Tamco clear. |
