I recently painted my car hood with 2K urethane and 2K clearcoat. I then cut/buff the clear and it looks great. I should just polish, wax and call it done, but...

..I am thinking about air brushing some ghost flames on the front of the hood.

My question is on prepping the hood for ghost flames.
Can I just scuff the clear (800grit), tape and airbrush the ghost flames (right over top of the clear?),
..or do I need to sand the clear down to my base color before air brushing flames?

yes your flames should go over sanded 800/1000 grit clear, do not sand through the clear to base color
