Honestly, the Fuji guns are great.... the only thing I don't like about the new ones is they are non-bleeders which means you have to keep that back pressure port "open" back by the turbine snout and also set it up for a small hose to direct it away from the turbine housing... I am just not a big fan of non-bleeders because they "shock" the air flow everytime the gun trigger closes. Supposedly the excess pressure port helps with this.... I am not convinced..... Maybe contact Fuji and see if they are still making one of the older Fuji guns or see if you could pickup one on Ebay, etc....

Thanks. I messaged Phil to see when he might have his gun in stock. I rather buy that. The Fuji is quite expensive.

Phil said he is out of stock for the metal gravity cups. He said for automotive these two are better suited. Thoughts Darrel?

Okay, so it's like this. I also have that first link's model. I grew up with that "style" of gun so I don't mind using it in wood finishing however I just really prefer a gravity style turbine gun because of the extra "oomph" in handling high solids automotive coatings. Now, back in the "good ol days" of lesser powered turbines I use to combo up a hose set like the one's in the second link with a 2 quart hip pot which you had could have adjustable fluid pressure via a separate compressed air hose. That gives you a setup that looks like this, but with a turbine gun instead of the compressed air gun shown....

Now, if he actually has the gravity gun body you could just use this cup....

The only thing you have to do is drill a small hole in the top of that lid, add a small brass hose barb, and the short section of hose to pressurize it.... Here is an example (could only find it in a 5 pack but Home Depot does usually have these individually). https://www.homedepot.com/p/LTWFITTING- ... /313389398 You can drill the hole a little on the small side and simply thread that fitting through. When finished add some silicone seal around it. I know that cup fits Phil's gun for sure as I have used it on several of my guns over the years. It does make the gun a little heavier, so duhhhh.... fill it up a little less if that bugs you....

Once again. Your detailed responses are highly appreciated. Honestly I’d like to use the set up you have because I feel like the ability to get tips from you is much more valuable than any other factor. I’ll ask him if he’ll sell the body alone or when he might have an eta on the cup being back in stock.

Thanks for posting that...... my friends that is a good deal. It's a Sicmo clone style bleeder with the gravity cup. In hand, that gun is a little lighter and very balanced compared to a lot of other designs....

Hopefully I finally get to do some spraying tomorrow. But I think I missed something on my HVLP Turbine build. If I am understanding correctly, since I'm using a bleeder gun, I should block off this branch port.

Is that correct?

I am doing the same for a 1968 Mustang Convertible. Did you end up blocking the port?

To follow up, I did go ahead and plug the branch port.
