Hi Guys,
Planning to build a 8x10 small booth to do my bike parts. Lighting and ventilation and insulation I have a handle on but am wondering about floor covering. The structure will be built over patio stones (about 30"x30" each. My first thought is to just put plastic sheeting over it each job. Dampness would make a few sheets of plywood only last a few months. A concrete pad is out of the budget but I realize that would be the fix. Thoughts??
Thanks!!

Have you considered a few coats of epoxy based floor paint?
Maybe power wash it first to remove dirt and loose debris. A commercial grade carpet might work as well. 1968 Coronet R/T

Great idea, did that to our garage yeas ago with a Rustoluem Epoxy kit--still looks great to this day. Not sure how it would bond with the spaces in the patio stones but it would be a big help though. |

I do a Good sweep and Wash the Booth out by pressure washer before a Big paint job.
That includes walls and ceiling then Vacuum it all out. I still get occasional trash in CC but all my Paint jobs get a Cut and Buff any way or at least De nib occasional dust bunny or Bug and spot buff. Most debris in the paint come from dried over spray or you the painter Not off the floor or the booth. Dennis B.

If they've been laid level then compressed fibro would make a sturdy and waterproof floor that wouldn't damage the original should you want to take it down later. Outdoor carpet makes a reputedly good floor that helps to capture dust and can be vacuumed or hosed out. Chris

I think you made my decision....outdoor carpeting in a 10x8 piece will be perfect--as you say, I can hose it out and or vacuum--done. I think I will still mist it down with water just before I spray. Thanks!! |

Decided to go with the paint. We filled in the spaces in the stones with cement grout and then we will paint. Might be a yearly thing to do but I think it will do the job--time will tell I guess. |
