I am doing paint and body on my '67 Convertible Mustang.
The current Plan is; Filler on Metal > High Build Epoxy Primer > Base > Clear

I will be placing an order for Tamco high build epoxy and am looking at ordering additional supplies to get the free shipping (over $375)

Wax & Grease Remover - should I get Solvent, Waterbourne or both?
And how much should I order?

Well, can't speak for the rest of they guys but I like to keep a gallon of each around. I mean that much lasts a long time for me. I like both because it always seems like one will work better than the other in different cleaning applications. Water based solvent cleaners will generally have anti-stat properties which is helpful for fiberglass and plastics (like bumpers.)

I also buy it by the gallon, personally I don't care for the water based W&G remover. Not saying it doesn't do a good job because it does but for me the Solvent based W&G is the cat's meow.

Put it in a spray bottle, spray it on and wipe it off before it dries.
Removes all the grime, flashes of quickly (especially here in Arizona and 90 degrees), plus I have used to clean grease off of other parts.

Recently removed the locking hubs from my 4x4 truck and needed to get them clean.

Waterborne cleaners = soda, coffee, dirt, sanding residue etc

Solvent borne cleaners = tar, wax, grease etc

both should be used

Morning Fresh dishwashing detergent. In the 1l bottle. Mix with warm water. Gets the road grime, dust and dirt. Hose off. Lasts for ages.

Prepsol. Solvent based wax & grease remover. I buy in 20l drum and use a pump up pressure bottle then wipe off. Gets the oily contaminants and, if washed first you don't need much. If you don't use so often then a 5l container is enough.

Methylated Spirits. A mixture of ethyl alcohol (95%) and methyl alcohol (%5).Mix 50:50 with water and spray on then wipe off as a final cleaner. It gets fingerprints and any residue left by the Prepsol. A 5l container lasts for a long time.

Anyone have a recommended waterborne cleaner to be used on filler to "lift" sanded dust? Im struggling to find a product and source that is explicit for this purpose, so I thought I would ask. I cant use water/soap mix in my case as I have bare steel showing on some spots of my sanded surface, and my interior is still bare metal. Just want to be sure I am using something that does not leave a residue, and will not interfere with the body filler/steel/high-build primer.

Will Windex work OK? Apply before, or after the wax/oil solvent?

I would recommend you put filler on AFTER Epoxy on bare steel. Just let the epoxy cure out well and scuff it b4 you apply filler or Primer.
Lots of other posts on what to clean with ALL good advise so I don't feel the need to repeat it other to say Water based removes contaminants that the chemical one wont and the chemical one will remove contaminants that a Water born struggles with so using both in some cases may be needed I have witnessed this personally.

The filler was applied on top of an epoxy sealer. I have burned through the epoxy to bare metal in a few spots (and stopped) as part of block sanding (high spots). Il search the forum again for waterborne cleaner and see if I can find a manufacturer/vendor this time.
