Hey guys

I was told that 1.8mm is a good tip size for a primer gun...but I was just wondering if you guys use any smaller tips than that? I'm looking for a cheap gun to prime with and the place I'm looking at doesn't have any guns with 1.8mm tips.

I'm guessing that 1.7mm tips would be fine also...but what about 1.6mm?

Thanks guys,
Elliott

I don't have anything smaller than a 1.8. Next I have a 2.2.
Check out tcpglobal http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-mm-HVLP-Spr ... 5ae320198c
I would get their 2.5 for 39 bucks free shipping before I bought one smaller than 1.8. Just turn the fluid knob down some.

By that you mean you don't have any primer guns smaller than 1.8...right?

But do I really need a 2.5mm gun? I mean there are others for around the same price with 1.8mm tips...is that good? Or should I be looking @ a 2.2mm maybe?

If you can get a 1.8 for the same price fine. SMILES!

No I'm pretty sure he shoots color with something smaller...if not...I don't really know how he's doing it lol.

Anyone else got any opinions on tip sizes for primer?

1.8 seems to work for the majority. Technically, you can shoot primer with guns all the way down to 1.0 or smaller. Won't be fun,but it can be done.

standard 2k hi build primer a 1.8 is all you will need. for base and clears a 1.3 or 1.4 is all you will need. for polyester primer fillers, aka spray on bondo i shoot with a 2.2 tip.

Thanks guys.

And if I did buy a 2.2 tip, would I be able to make it spray as if it was a 1.8?
