What “high flow” air fittings is everyone using? Is there an industry standard? When I go looking there are a bunch of manufacturers and each manufacturer has several styles. What CFM rating is considered “hi flow” for these fittings?

I currently have some aluminum Husky “high flow” fittings I got from Home Depot. They work, and made a huge difference in the way my guns spray. But they wear out quick. If I’m going to buy more I would like to get something that’s going to last, and something I will be able to buy more of over the long term as I add tools.

Amflo CP8. If I remember correctly they're "T" style. Of course Milton has an equivalent but usually more expensive.

Yeah..... Not seeing anything about standards or compatibility.

Those DeVilbiss fittings are very expensive. $27 for the quick disconnect and $12 for the plug fitting. Are these things made out of stainless or something???? Anyway, I would be looking at $204 in fittings just to get started (4 quick disconnects and 8 plugs). And I am guessing they are not compatible with anything else???

Also took a look at Milton fittings. From what I can gather the "V" series is for HVLP. Same setup with Milton would cost about $28. So I could buy 7 times the number of fittings for less $$$. Question is the quality.

Anyone have experience with the Milton fittings? Is the V series the correct ones for this application? Quality?

My mistake, Amflo CP8 is a G style fitting. 1/4npt but 3/8 body. 99cuft/min flow rate.
G style are a bit clunky but cheap.

We use Nitto style fittings. They're the standard here in most paint shops.

I use the genuine Nitto, like this. They're expensive compared to the cheap junk but last way longer and tend not to leak. I can get sets of them, like this, that work out much cheaper than buying individual fittings.

Doesn't actually say, but they are high flow and the difference is noticeable. That said, we don't use HVLP guns so there isn't quite the same need for air volume with the RP style guns.

Interesting. That Devilbiss fitting that Dave linked would cost me $23.97 plus $50.63 postage. So total of $74.60USD or near enough to $100AUD for one air fitting.

i dont pay that much, you can find them cheaper but still expensive, they work well for me and dont wear out like all the others ive used

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'm going to order a Milton kit today... just one kit for evaluation.
