It does take some getting used to, to be able to shoot and ' out of the gun' good paint job, with HVLP. But eventually you will get the hang of it. Do some practice panels. Run the air pressure a bit higher than recommended in the beginning. Go a bit slower. If you could shoot a good job with your Binks, you'll get good with the Sata in time.

Thanks Doright!

chopolds I have a couple smaller boat projects that I intend to paint first to get used to the Sata. I do have a Finex 3000 and a 1000 that I use quite a bit and really like them for smaller jobs.

newer paint you say ?

what newer paint is that ?

sure there are some new clears and stuff but most basecoats remain the same

Dave if I elaborate much I'll be telling my age but, I painted daily in the 70's to the '90's, so I figured at this point there had to be some advancement in finishing chemistry and anything lately would be considered "newer". But in the last few years I sprayed some U-Tech (smells just like 1st gen Imron) Dupont/Nason etc... What is available to me locally.

The bike in the pic is U-Tech B/C, the vette is what I'm now trying to get finished!
