Thanks Gents, great advice. As much as I would love to have the Iwata gun the Devilbiss FLG5-1.4 fits my budget perfectly and I also ordered the 1.8 needle kit for it so I've got a decent primer-paint-clear gun for under $200 and my compressor won't kill itself trying to keep up, a happy Christmas indeed.
