Does Husky make a good AC? In regards to using a DA sander? They're $300. Thanks.

Just found one in my same hometown. It's an 80 gallon Campbell&Hausfeld electric air compressor. Anyone know if this is a good one?

My 7.5 hp 80 gallon C & H compressor just turned 27 years old. It's been completely rebuilt once but still is on it's original motor. About 8 to 10 hours of use per day usually 6 days a week. In my opinion the older ones are better. Got any model numbers or other info. off that unit?

See my response in your other thread.

Don't be misled by the ridiculous tank sizes quoted. The size of a tank is how many litres/gallons/US gallons of water it will hold, not some airy fairy figure based on uncompressed units at a (usually not) given pressure.

Look at the capacity of the motor and compressor.

For example, this is the compressor I have in my shop. 120 litres and 390 lpm. Copes easily with painting all day and will run most air tools without loss of pressure.

Ha, ha.....it's an American problem here....when we have smaller tanks sizes they almost always have small crappy pump/motor combos. I really wish we had more portable compressors like the one in your picture with that hefty motor/pump. It's so bad here that a tank of that size would have a motor/compressor making about 4 to 6 cfm. Something like this.... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-30-Ga ... /206532808

Are you serious?????? $300?????

What are your real plans here ? Wait on a compressor all day?
What do you want to do? Wait on compressor to charge all day long?
Burn cheap Air compressors up running it constantly?

If your serious about doing body work and painting as a SERIOUS hobby STOP kidding your self! start looking at a REAL air compressor!
Your air compressor is the most important tool in your shop! You cant cheat this!
Even a 5 hp 60 gal 11-17 cfm compressor while some will say its the bare minimum to use and it will work for a while it really is too small for this type of work you will burn up pumps doing the work.

I get the fact everyone thinks or wishes they can sqeek by and they think they can just wait for the compressor to just charge back up but the fact is the pump should be able to do all the work if its not its TOO SMALL!
The tank is just be a shock absorber for the pressure fluctuations you want your pressure regulator to maintain at a steady pressure without fluctuations and if the pressure in the tank is constantly fluctuating wildly you cant maintain steady pressure at the regulator through any device hooked to it especially a Paint gun which is critical in this game.

If your serious about doing this stuff Get serious and start looking at something like these.
