Anyone have any idea what brand or size or anything about this compressor is? I got it free a while back and it's set outside and the only information about it was on stickers and they have worn off over time but it does run and I'm considering using it to paint with if it's good enough. I think it's a 20 gallon but I'm not even sure about that. The first letter is a D and I'm told it was originally bought from Tractor Supply. Would this be good enough to do a paint job with?

Put it on Craigslist and continue shopping for a "real" compressor. Not kidding.....it's only good for staplers and nail guns.

Those "direct drive" compressors are very, very loud and
generate a lot of heat from the high RPM they run.
For painting and long life, get one that is belt drive and runs
much slower, staying cooler and generating less moisture.

Beware of those direct drive HP ratings.
A lot of Mfg's, like Sears, will put a higher HP rating on
a smaller HP compressor. They sold 3 HP compressors
that ran on 110 volt current, which can't happen.
When I confronted them about the motor only being a
1 HP according to its amp draw, they replied that due to the high RPM
output the compressor motor it put out the CFM of a 3 HP.
It didn't do that either.
So beware, check CFM and compare amp draw of the motor.
