LPH50 is a lovely little gun, but that price seems way too cheap. At Sprayguns Direct the LPH50 is just over $400USD and their pricing is usually pretty sharp, so I'd suspect the Amazon one to be a fake.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'd hate to buy one and find out it was fake.

BTW, my Astro arrived yesterday. Sure enough, the lid to the paint cup has "Star" embossed on it. Looks like it would be a bit better than my Horrid Fright touch-up gun, but not as good as an Iwata or Devilbiss.

And what about the Paasche?

I have two Paasche airbrushes which I love and have had for maybe 25 years. But their sprayguns? Just looking at it gives me the feeling that I wouldn't drop cash on finding out if it was any good or not.

And that's pretty much what Star want. Good solid kit that is cheaper than the big names but doesn't compromise too much in quality.

And, after looking back at the Paasche, I see it has the side-mount fan control, which you warned against in an earlier reply. 'Nuff said.
