My El cheapo pneumatic Paint shaker just flat wore out and was barely shaking any more, Not that it ever did very well.
I knew it was cheap China junk when I bought it but it worked after a fashion for a lot longer than I expected it too with coaxing every time I needed to use it.

So I gave up on it the other day in frustration came in the house for a cup of coffee and just Ordered a New Blair Tornado 2 out of frustration! I had been looking at them for a Long time! off and on mostly after using my POS!
I hope its worth the money and does a good job although it wont take much to be better than what I had!

The Junk I started out with,Astro I am not saying they are all Junk But mine never worked worth a Turd. I even rebuilt the actuator in it! It still never shock like it should, would never go full stroke of pneumatic actuator Buy one at your own risk! My opinion their Junk! I will never buy another one.

Other models I looked at

My new machine is a Blair Tornado 2

Does anyone else have this or use this one? If so have you ever had to change the springs? if so which set should I buy to keep in stock ? top bottom or Both??
Seen Blair's video saying they don't warranty the springs.

So do I, but moving to aluminium ones more.

At 5c each you can get an awful lot of them for the $600 cost of that shaker.

You guys? c'mon! All of these paints have way too many solids in them that settle out FAST! Way to fast to be trying to mix with a Stick you really need to step it up a bit in my opinion!
Even that $100 Astro was better than a stick! after a Can sits for any length of time!

I didn't pay $600 for the Shaker, I picked it up lightly used, clean and in like new condition for $250 plus the ride $50.
The average I have seen over the years watching them is $400-$500 new.
Still a Chunk of change but Money well spent in my opinion.

:rotfl: You forget I have this:

Paint gets mixed fresh, as required, meaning I only need a little stick to mix the tinters together. As a general rule I don't keep or store paint that is already mixed.

Still a lot of money I reckon, for something that wouldn't get used that often. Easier than trying to shift solids in the bottom of the tin, I'll grant you, but I couldn't justify it.

That's a different deal there Having & doing your own mixing doesn't get much fresher than that.

I will still keep my Shaker

I'm with you, Dennis! Only a hobbyist, and stuff sits on the shelf, sometimes for months, before use. Primers esp., paint, spray cans, undercoat, even body filler. Try stirring body filler after it's sat for a couple weeks! Ha!

I know what you mean with the Filler, Shaking that stuff is the only way to go! especially if it sits for any length of time.

Another thing I found is adding a little Evercoat Plastic Honey to it after it gets a little old and dried out helps thin it back out.

When I didn't have a Shaker I would take it to a dealer or Home depot and they would shake it for free.
