Does anyone know if there is much of an advantage to using a nozzle with a venturi when blasting? I'm shopping for a good one ( the one that came with my cheapo outfit lasted about half an hour) and see that the boron carbide, and tungsten carbide nozzles sometimes come with venturi bores, which adds considerable cost to the nozzle, which one salesman told me added to the power of the blast and widened the scope of the blast also. At least I think that is what he said, he was talking pretty fast. Any info on this would be appreciated. I did a search on here without finding anything. Thanks

Yes The special hardened Blast Tips are worth the Money IF you Blast a lot.

I have a Carbide in my Blast Cabinet since new and Have NEVER changed it!

My Pressure Pot Blaster is another story all I can get for it are the cheap Ceramic Nozzles those wear out fast as you say an hour of Blasting and they are done.

In my case to install one on my Pressure Pot I have to buy a whole new Gun for it and at This Point I keep looking for a Hi Quality used Blaster b4 I spend any more money On My elcheapo

Thanks. I’m just starting blasting so I’ll probably get a gun some day but for now I ditched the valve at the nozzle and use the one in the sand tank outlet, which works fine so long as I remember to shut off the sand before shutting off the air. So no gun or valve in nozzle, the nozzle is all I need.
I’ll go ahead and get the one with the venturi unless I find out it’s not a useful feature
