I'm planning on painting a Jeep fender, but I bought a Devilbiss FLG-671, which is packaged as a Waterborne Valve Kit. Should I have bought the FLG 670 solvent based gun instead? What should I do? (I'm new to car painting.) Thanks

It's waterborne value kit, not waterborne valve kit.
The only difference is the cup. Waterborne base coats can be slightly corrosive to aluminium so the cup is acetal in the waterborne value kit. An acetal cup can be used with solvent or waterborne base coats. If you have the opportunity to return and exchange then swap it for an FLG5 as a first preference, or second preference, get the FLG4 with the #1 air cap. Either of these will use much less air then the #3 HVLP aircap, reducing load on your compressor which will need to be capable of delivering 13CFM which means an actual capacity of around 17CFM whereas the #1 aircap needs only 10CFM or an actual capacity of around 13CFM.
