That Husky is a prime example of compressor con games.
A 7.5 hp unit that only puts out 10.5 CFM at 90, that's pitiful.
My Eaton is only a 5 hp and puts out over 15 at 90.
and the Eaton motor is physically twice as big, that's a clue right there.
I bet if you check the amp draw on that Husky motor you'll find
it's actually way less than even a real 5 hp needs to be.
These mfg.'s right out lie about horsepower's.
The name plate on the motor shows the amp draw, that tells it all.
The horsepower is a direct relation to the output of a compressor.

So I did have a chance to measure.... My unit is side to side a hair under 35", facing front to back 25", and 73" tall. Now that does not include the Quiet air box which would usually be attached to the back of the tank. We took that off (it very simply unbolts) BEFORE we came through the door upright. We ended up using the skid it was bolted to as a permanent wheeled base by adding industrial caster and extra bracing again before even moving it.
And, yes, that hocus pocus with compressor ratings is what drove me to research Eaton years ago. I am telling you, by just going to frosted LED shop lights and buying that compressor has lowered my electric bills by about 30% in my shop. Last month we also installed Mini Split heat pumps and I just got the lowest electric bill I have ever seen..... $130!

I had two of those Cambell housfeld compressors tied together to work as one, Their not bad but not great, the 2 stage pump is only 11 cfm pump regardless of advertising claims and the motor is also just a 3hp again regardless of claims on the stickers. Until some one cracks down on the false advertising Buyer beware.

The original pumps lasted 4-5 years I replaced them with 18cfm Eaton 3 cylinders single stage pumps which lasted about the same length of time.
I sold both when I got my new pump, people were happy to get them. I made sure to tell them they were worn out They still wanted them.

Last Friday I went over a couple of towns and picked up the temp Husky compressor and installed it, connected all the air lines and electrical.

Much better than the old DOA unit and will hold me over until the 7.5 hp Eaton gets here. Some time late August is what I am expecting on the Eaton delivery.

At that time I will need to enlarge the exterior enclosure and redo the electrical upsizing to a 60A/2P disconnect. My compressor is actuated by a contactor (relay) on a rotary timer inside the garage. I am probably going to add a small TCV (temp controlled vent) to the compressor enclosure to move the air around the motor and pump.

Thanks guys, and yes the new Eaton will be going there. Do to the size of the new compressor I will need to rebuild it. It is on the North (kind of) side of the building so it doesn't get hit by the sun. Not sure yet where I am going to mount the air silencer box that the new compressor will be coming with.
