Hi All

I’ve been looking to pick up a better mini rotary buffer. I do almost entirely just motorcycle parts, some of which I hold by hand - therefore requiring one handed buffing.
Currently for the small stuff I’m using an IR 3129 air polisher with 3 inch twisted wool pads. It works okay, but was wondering if there was anything better for what I do.

I also have a 7 inch makita rotary but find it hard to use on smaller parts that need to be held by hand.

I’ve looked at the Griots gr3 and flex pe8

If anyone has any insight in a tool for the smaller jobs, I’m all ears!

Maybe get a bench mount buffer, you'll probably have to get an adaptor
to mount the 5/8"-11 buffing pads to the 1/2" shaft.
But then you only have to hold the part, mount the buffer to your bench.

Does that have any sort of variable speed? I was considering it because I already have a bunch of m12 batteries, but it just seems like a cordless version of the IR air version I already have.

+1, although mine is a rebrand, but same, same.

Using with the 3D pads and 3D ACA500 compound. Cuts so quick you have to be careful. :goodjob:

gotta handle on that makita? if so, clamp it in a bench vice. move the part-not the buffer.

Very impressive! I went to their site to see a bit about it. I'm sure the system is not cheap but it sure does a pretty job!
