Would you all mind taking a look at this HF car canopy and give me your thoughts on making it a portable paint booth? I'm thinking this will work, providing I get the fan, filter and heat in it. Thanks for any help.

Probably no worse than some of the sheet plastic ones you see posted up from time to time. Make sure your fan has enough capacity to handle the size/volume and nice big intake filters so the fan doesn't collapse it. Working in something like this can be quite dangerous - you should look at a supplied air system.

That one is quite small. Spend the extra $100 and get the 12x20.

I have done various mechanical and spray work in this kind of portable unit.... That size is kind of "tight" if you ask me. Now Harbor Freight does have this one.... https://www.harborfreight.com/12-ft-x-2 ... 58741.html You would have a lot more room to get around the vehicle. Another thing is making sure it is securely anchored. In my opinion those stock anchors don't cut it. I'd consider digging some fence post holes and using rebar poured in concrete as anchors. I had a fairly high quality 2 car unit that was battened down with 3 foot long screw/stakes. High winds picked it up like a toy and bounced it over a football field away one time. If you are going to be shooting in any kind of cold weather I would first put 6 mil clear polyfilm over the frame work followed by 4 to 6 inches of attic blanket insulation, THEN put my cover over that.....

Just a thought, have you looked into any of the inflatable units? I think if I ever got to the point of doing complete cars, I would look into one of them if I could not rent a real booth.
