We are working on a paint project and the guy shooting :talkhand: the paint told me to get a Devilbiss H-05. I can’t even find that they exist on Google. Is there another model name? He also said it’s a 410 tip marked G5 that he recommends. Can’t find that either. Go easy on me, guys. This is all new to me…

That's a very old gun, a forerunner to the GTI.

Does the guy that's spraying this job not have his own tools, that he's asked you to supply?

There are many better guns around these days, although that was a good gun in its day.

Coming in from out of state. Relative who is helping out. Flying down so bringing a gun isn’t really an option.

Is there a specific GTI to look for that is the ‘replacement?’

That gun evolved into the GTI, then GTI Prolite which is now just the Pro Lite.

Without knowing exactly what your project is, I'd take a guess and say the most likely choice would be a 1.3mm, fitted with the T110 aircap. This is an RP gun, so more effective than HVLP and that aircap will give the smoothest finish. Alternately, if you're matching existing factory peel (as in a repair), then the 1.3mm with T20 aircap would suit.

Here's an example.

Devilbiss got back to me and said it is now the GPG gun and told me to get the GPG 905015.

So who knows. Hopefully I ordered the right thing…

The GPG is a general purpose gun. Good, but not in the same league as the Pro Lite.

The Pro Lite I linked had the best aircap (T110) and a price of USD$463.31.

The GPG you linked has the 7E7 aircap (good, but not as good as the T110) and a price of $427.13.

For $35 I know which one I'd choose.
