I have the 16" x 2 3/4" Wondering if could cut it down to 12" this would work better and as a bonus id get a small 4". This has the velcro on it.Whats the best way to cut it?

With dollar notes. Buy a smaller one and keep this one for large flat surfaces if you can't use it in some areas. The smaller the block, the greater the likelihood of not getting the surface flat. Use it as much as possible and then the smaller one in more difficult areas. Chris

Any saw will work, they cut easily.
I've cut mine on a table saw. JC.

If they were cheaper Id do just that.I think cutting it down is more economical than buying the two sizes separately. |
Not only do I cut them to better sizes length wise but I make them contour as well.

I also use a table saw or razor knife work well too. I then use the sanding belt to make the same curve on the cut end Experienced Trained Certified

Cutting kerfs , neat idea. Thanks. |
I've always had problems with the velcrow coming off.
I've used contact cement to glue it back on and even tried double sided carpet tape, but it doesn't want to stay stuck. JC.

I got a peel and stick velcro the size of the pad, used 3M adhesion promoter on the foam. Piece of wood on both sides ,several C clamps and let it sit a couple days. So far so good but Im not using it daily. |
