I watch auto repair shows a lot and I've seen lots of disks used for cleaning metal, sanding down weld beads and cutting through paint to metal or at least down to solidly adhered paint. What works well? 3M Roloc Bristle disks? Those disks that look like scotch brite material in steroids? Flap disks?

Won't that leave a lot of straight scratch marks?

I have been using these on the air tool below.
They are cheap but effective. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079P ... le?ie=UTF8 https://powertools.ingersollrand.com/en ... /301b-307b https://www.amazon.com/Fibvaxm-Grinder- ... ial&sr=1-5 1968 Coronet R/T

If you want to remove paint, without damaging the metal, then the paint stripping discs are the best. If you want to sand the metal, like cleaning up welds and the like, then those little discs go alright.
